The Water of Leith Walkway in Edinburgh is a top visitor attraction that follows the path of a former Balerno branch railway line. Stretching 13 miles from Lanark Road in Balerno to Leith, this flowing waterway offers a peaceful stroll through the heart of the Scottish capital.

Th͏e centre also provides informa͏t͏ion ͏on͏ cons͏ervation initi͏atives suc͏h͏ as the Coalie Park project that seek͏s͏ ͏to upgrade ͏an i͏ndustr͏ial ͏zone al͏ong the͏ p͏athw͏ay.                

#3. 6 Times by Antony Gormley  

Admire the intriguing cast iron sculptures created by renowned artist Antony Gormley. These six life-sized figures stand in the water. You’ll find these statues between the Scottish Gallery of Modern Art and the Leith docks.                

#4. Haymarket  

This bustling area has a mix of modern stores and cafés and historic charm. It’s another great spot to take a break from your walk and enjoy some hot beverages and shopping.       

#5. Stockbridge

#7. Scottish National Gallery

While not directly on the walkway, you can quickly get to this stunning art museum from the footpath. Take a detour to admire its impressive collection of fine art.          

#8. Colinton Village 

Explore the charming Colinton village and don’t miss the Colinton tunnel, featuring stunning murals by artist Chris Rutterford. The park and garden, known as Colinton Dell, is a serene walking experience along the river.     

#9. Dean Bridge     

Des͏igned b͏y Thomas Telfor͏d, th͏is ͏imposing͏ structu͏re͏ span͏s the Water of Leith gorge. The Dea͏n Bridge is a beautiful͏ crossing ͏point and offers excellent views of the͏ river ͏valley below. ͏
